Preventive Maintenance Module Preferences
Preventive Maintenance module preferences allow you to tailor the user interface and behavior of the system to best reflect the business process at your organization. Default preferences can be set at the repair center-level, and then further modified to reflect your personal preferences.
To access Preventative Maintenance module preferences:
-
Select Tools > Preferences from the Main Menu.
The Preferences for the currently accessed module will be displayed.
-
Click the Preventative Maintenance folder in the Module/Category menu on the left.
The page refreshes, displaying preferences for the Preventative Maintenance module.
The following preferences are available for the Preventive Maintenance module:
-
Defaults: The following default values can be set. These defaults are automatically populated onto each new preventive maintenance schedule that is created:
-
Default Type for generated work orders. This value can be selected from Work Order Type lookup.
-
Setting for to whether or not work orders should be generated for assets that are not currently in service.
If this setting is set to Yes, Maintenance Connection will skip over any assets not currently in service when generating work orders for each PM Schedule.
-
-
List: List preferences are available for each module in the system. These preferences affect the records shown in the List pane. Preferences for the Preventive Maintenance module include:
-
Settings to determine when results should be refreshed.
-
The number or records that should be displayed per page in the Preventive Maintenance List.
-
-
Settings: A preference is available to determine if manual work order generation (for PMs and PM Projections) should occur in the background. We recommend that you set this preference to Yes to improve efficiency and eliminate time out errors encountered when large batches are generated.
In addition, there is a preference available to determine whether the Priority Rules Manager should be honored when generating work orders from PM Schedules. Priority action rules base the target date on the defined priority of the work order.
-
Work Days: Work day settings. Work orders will not be generated on days set to No. If a work order is scheduled for a non work day, it will be generated on the next available work day.
For example, if a work order was scheduled for the 15th of the month, but the 15th of the current month is a Sunday and Sunday is listed as a non work day, the work order would be generated for the 16th of the month instead.
